For her, hairstyle and hair color to have a large say in adding to the prettiness of the face. What she means is amply evident from the before and after pics of her clients. This Lithuanian hairstylist, who runs a hair salon by the name of SelfStation, has an uncanny sense of matching hairstyle to the face. Since her school days, she displayed an innate sense for beauty and aesthetics and it came as no surprise that she chose to become a hairdresser.
Jurgita started cutting hair at the tender age of 16. She worked out of a small hairdressing outlet that was opened by her parents in their hometown, Mažeikiai. Having honed her haircutting skills there, she landed a real job as a hairdresser. Today, with over 24 years of experience and her unique hairstyling skills, she has become much sought after.
The secret of Jurgita’s amazing hairstyles is that she doesn’t only focus on hair, but also takes into account the eyes and skin color. She believes that every person has a type, which helps her to figure out what’ll work best for them. She classifies her client into one of the four types – Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn, depending upon the color and complexity of their hair. This way she’s able to choose the most appropriate hairstyle.
In an interview with Bored Panda, Jurgita says, “It’s like creating a painting. You first analyze what colors you’ll ‘paint’ with and only after you’ve all of your colors ready after you know your client’s type, and the shape of their face and hair texture, only then do your start ‘painting’.”
Jurgita’s hairstyles on her Instagram page is a testimony to her hairstyling skills. And the variety of hairstyles she commands is something simply incredible. And she doesn’t just create new haircuts but also boosts clients’ self-esteem and confidence in themselves. She’s forthright in her suggestions and reminds her clients to love themselves.
