It is certainly rare to find a parent of an internationally known figure being a celebrity in her own right. Meet the 70-year-old mother of Elon Musk, who is much recognized on social media and in glossy magazines.
Elon Musk, as you know, is the boss of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX’s mission. While Tesla Inc. is famous for its Tesla electric car, SpaceX or Space Exploration Technologies Corp. is its aerospace and space transportation services company.
Recently, he showed the world he means business by launching his Tesla Roadster car into space atop the first Falcon Heavy rocket to orbit the Sun, maybe forever!
However, back to Maye Musk, Elon’s mother, who is not only a glamorous model but a dietician of repute too. Besides Elon, she bore two more sons, Kimbal and Tosca Musk.
Born in Canada to a family of addicted adventure enthusiasts, she moved to South Africa with them and spent almost ten years exploring the Kalahari Desert.
However, her interests lay in the glamor world. She entered the Miss South Africa beauty pageant in 1969 where she made it to the final round. She established herself as one of the top models in the country and continued this career when she returned to Canada with her children. She has had the singular distinction of gracing the glossy magazine covers for the last 50 years!
This is not Maye’s only claim to fame. She also earned her Master’s degree in dietetics to become an internationally renowned nutrition expert, who was vociferous in advocating vegetable gardens for helping children eat better.
At her age, she continues to be a model and a dietician and graces the social media platforms and magazines, proving that beauty doesn’t necessarily become a victim of age.
