This Glass Blower Enshrines Your Departed Pet’s Ashes In Glass To Immortalize Your Pet

If you’ve ever had a pet, you’ll be no stranger to the pain of losing your cuddly furry friend. Well, Davenport Memorial Glass now makes it possible to immortalize your dear departed pet in glass to immortalize your pet.

The company, Davenport Memorial Glass, is the brainchild of Cameron Davenport, an expert at blowing glass. He explains his noble cause, thus, “Nothing will compare to the time spent with your loved one, but we hope to aid in treasuring them and remembering the precious time you had together. Our goal is to physically capture a moment, to create a keepsake that brings back a memory.”

Normally, pet lovers, who want to remember their departed pets, use pet cemeteries to bury them and install gravestones in their name. This enables them to visit the grave once in a while and spend some time in their memory at the grave. Davenport Memorial Glass obviates the need to use pet cemeteries, instead, it makes it possible to carry their ashes enshrined in glass on your person. This way your beloved pet is always with you.

All this started when Davenport sought the help of Phil Siegel, an artist, to perfect his art of blowing glass. This training helped him in focusing more on the art aspect and less on the function. This is what makes his memorial pieces to look so aesthetic.

But what really started Davenport on this memorial glass thing were, the ashes of a good friend that he had lost a decade ago. They were resting on his bookshelf for a number of years. The eureka moment came when he decided to make him into a marble.

Davenport has developed and perfected a special technique of introducing the ashes into glass, but he keeps it under wraps. According to him putting ashes into the glass is difficult, since “ashes put a lot of stress into the glass, making it very difficult to work with.”

If you want to keep your departed pet with you, send a spoonful of ashes to Davenport and he will encapsulate them for you in the glass. You can even opt for a paw-imprint on glass and use it as a pendant.
