Have you ever wondered what it’d look like if you put two halves of different faces together into one whole? Well, this is the forte of Dada…no, she has nothing really to do with Dadaism, the artistic movement in modern art.
But, boy, can she sketch! You just need to visit her Instagram page to see her unique ‘half-n-half’ faces of famous cartoons and fairytale figures of Disney and other characters. She lovingly calls them ‘mash-ups’. And it’s not only the thought behind her ‘mash-ups’ that’s so amazing, her illustrations, too, are simply superb.
Dada is a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki, a Japanese animator, filmmaker, screenwriter, author and manga artist. Her inspiration is his anime feature films. She’s also a great lover of Disney’s stories. And her medium of expressing her art is only a set of color pencils.
It’s not only the Disney characters that excite Dada, but she’s also adept at drawing other characters as well. Says she, “I love drawing all sorts of subjects with all sorts of mediums. I believe that art can communicate without words. It’s a platform where I filter my emotions; it gives me the passion to create.”
However, for Dada, the main deterrent to achieving her dreams is money to sustain herself. She’s quite candid about asking for help and says, “I’d love to pursue art as a career. Your support will help me with art expenses. With your support through Patreon, I’ll be able to create more art for and with you guys!”
With a following of over 81,000 fans on Instagram alone, this artist is worth supporting. And with $1 or more per month in contribution, she’s offering links to downloadable videos of her drawing process, a 10 percent discount on everything available on her online store and much more.
