If you genuinely love children, it shows, especially in times of the coronavirus outbreak. One such kid-lover is Mo Willems, a bestselling author and illustrator of children’s books, such as ‘The Pigeon Have to Go to School’, I Will Take a Nap’ and ‘Knufflebunny’. He realized the need for reaching out to children, who are housebound and can’t go to school due to coronavirus.

Mo has started live-streaming his videos, aptly titled as ‘Lunch Doodles’, from his own house for children forced to stay at home due to the virus. He live-streams his videos every weekday at 1 PM EST. His video sessions focus on around 300 million children worldwide stuck at home. He shares his video sessions on the website and the YouTube account of Kennedy Center.

Mo’s videos come as a godsend to parents who’re finding it difficult to keep their children occupied at home in times of coronavirus outbreak. These video sessions help take away much of parents’ load of homeschooling their children, which in itself is an onerous task.

By video streaming ‘Lunch Doodles’, Mo aims to doodle with the children and provide relief to parents struggling with their own jobs and responsibilities. To make the sessions practical and doable, the duration has deliberately been set to about 20 minutes. And it’s not only drawing that he’d be doing with the kids, but would also respond to their questions through his videos.

Willems has already shared three episodes of ‘Lunch Doodles’ and the response of both children and parents has been very positive. However, for parents, it’s important to follow him on his Twitter account to know if there’s any disruption in live streaming videos due to technical glitches so that the children don’t miss an episode.
