What do you do when your cleaning brush becomes old and all worn out? You throw it, right? But not Simon Brown, he collects them, not because he is obsessed with them, but because he has the imagination and visualization to turn it into works of art.
Brown is a needle felt artist hailing from a small village on UK’s Northumbrian coast. According to him, his village is surrounded by castles, cats and tea. His fad is to search for old, beaten up, worn out brushes that have become useless for any kind of use.
Once Brown gets hold of them, he turns them into works of art. Placing tiny animals made of wool on the bristles of the brush, he creates whimsical pieces of art that are really intriguing and at the same time exciting.
What separates Brown from the rest of such kind of artists is his unique use of junked brushes. And his expertise in making animals and birds out of wool is something to be seen to be believed.
Although Brown doesn’t reveal much about himself, his art speaks for him!
