What happens when you fuse two starkly different elements into one frame? It fashions an amazing concept! This concept is what José Navarro, art director of an advertising agency, is currently getting popular for.
Blending two different images by manipulating them to give his creation a new meaning is the hallmark of this fantastic visualizer hailing from northern Spain. Each and every one of his blended creations is either thought-provoking or elicit a smile. And why not, Navarro considers it his personal triumph when the lay public from all over the world is able to interpret and understand his artwork. This for him, it “…means that I’ve done my job as a visual communicator.”
Asked about his inspiration, Navarro says, “There are many artists who inspire me or have inspired me throughout my life. When I started studying art, my favourite painter was Hopper. I was fascinated by his mastery of light, space and colour.”
However, it was only after Navarro discovered Daniel Gil, the renowned for the illustrator of thousands of book-covers for many Spanish publishers, that he really got inspired. As he puts it, “His work opened my eyes towards a more synthetic conception between form and concept. From there I knew my design path.”
Navarro advises budding designers to be curious and patience at the same time and train hard. They must also learn to be constructive critics and, above all, should be passionate about what they do and never stop having fun. Probably this is what has made this exceptional artist a cut above the rest.
What makes Navarro happy is mixing concepts, images and colours. And this happiness extends to his thousands of fans on Instagram and other social media platforms. Like all obedient husbands, he also attributes his success to his wife, who for him is the strongest and the most positive woman in the world!
