Here’s this guy who not only gives a humorous twist to the music album covers of famous singers and bands but also includes himself in them. Talk about creative innovation! This guy is Igor Lipchanskiy.
What this ingenious artist from Russia does seem simple, but requires a very fertile imagination and dollops of visualization. He picks up the covers of famous music albums of iconic singers and bands and photoshops them in such a way as to himself figure in them.
In each cover, he endeavours to tell a humorous story. His aim is to show, tongue-in-cheek, what would be happening off the frame in these amazing covers. Igor explains, “I have decided to make a small selection of interesting covers and show what might be off-screen if I were there.”
It needs some good amount of visualization and deft photoshopping to come up with something so interesting. Some of the covers Igor has ‘tampered’ with include John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s ‘Double Fantasy’ (1980),Linkin Park’s ‘Minutes To Midnight’ (2007), The Doors ’‘The Best of Doors’ (1985),Mac Miller’s‘Watching Movies With The Sound Off’ (2013),Blue October’s‘Approaching Normal’ (2009),Adele’s‘21’ (2011)and Will.i.am’s‘Willpower’ (2013). There are many more – one better than the other.
It really comes as a surprise that this gifted visualizer spends his spare time dismantling an AK-47 assault rifle and training his home bear. He loves music and listens to it all the time, while peering at the music album cover, waiting for his next inspiration to churn out another of those interesting and rib-tickling creations.
His cover creations are not only dubbed cool but have got avid following too. It comes as no surprise that over many peoples follow him on Facebook. He has also become famous for other social media platforms.
