Miniature Artist Bryanna Marie Creates Incredible Works Of Art On Copper Pennies

Miniature art is fascinating. To paint figures and objects in a small space is an impossible feat for most. But here’s an artist, Bryanna Marie, whose penny art is making waves on the internet.

Yes, you heard it right, this artist uses pennies as her canvas. One look at Bryanna Marie penny painting is certain to boggle your mind. She has churned out masterpieces, one after the other, in the confined space of these copper coins that display Lincoln’s face.

There is little doubt that Marie is immensely talented and has a gift for painting not only incredible landscapes and beautiful flora and fauna but also iconic movie scenes on all things tiny. Born in Tucson, Arizona, she got hooked to painting in childhood itself and it soon became her passion.

Marie refined her painting talent to such an extent that, today, she’s totally at home painting on small spaces. Completely self-taught, she was especially drawn to painting with oils on copper. So, when she decided to go for miniature painting, copper pennies were her natural choice.

It didn’t take long for Marie’s penny paintings to get noticed. In an interview on goodkin.org, Marie states, “In the beginning, it was a challenge to paint with Lincoln’s face in the background, now I see him as a part of the overall works.”

Artists get their inspiration either from nature or from other artists and Marie is no exception. She’s inspired by a number of artists, such as Zaria Foreman, Greg Ruth, and Donato Giancola. Their paintings motivate her to push her work to the next level.

Working from her home studio, Marie goes about her work in a most relaxed fashion. With a hot cup of coffee at hand and soothing noise in the background, she can go on for hours painting pennies. She paints with oils and even puts her painted pennies for sale.

Marie’s works have featured in publications, such as ‘Infected by Art’, ‘The Know’, ‘Voyage Phoenix Magazine’ and others. She regularly exhibits her work across the US.
