You’ve probably seen many talented LEGO artists, each with a unique skill that sets their creations apart from standard LEGO kits. Among them, Artur Godlewski stands out as an extraordinary LEGO artist who crafts mesmerizing mosaics using LEGO bricks.
Professionally, Artur Godlewski is part of the logistics industry, but his passion truly shines after hours when he dives into the creative world of LEGO bricks. His adventure with building and assembling LEGO creations “seriously” began in 2013. Initially, he explored the Technic and Mindstorms series, honing his skills with complex builds.
About a year ago, Artur ventured into creating mosaics, sharing his creations on social media and later showcasing them live at events related to LEGO bricks. Today, he is a proud member of the Wawlug Association, which unites LEGO enthusiasts from Poland.
Artur’s fascination with LEGO mosaics began a few years ago when he encountered a project by Polish LEGO fans (LUG). This collective effort recreated classic paintings such as “Stańczyk”, “Indian Summer”, “Jewish Woman with Oranges”, and “By the Seaside” using LEGO bricks. Inspired by this incredible project, Artur decided to try his hand at creating something similar.
In 2023, he purchased his first LEGO bricks to recreate Banksy’s “Pulp Fiction”, a decision that sparked a wave of creativity. The success of that project encouraged him to continue exploring this theme. Since then, he has created over 20 masterpieces, many of which will be showcased at this year’s Pyrkon Festival. Among his standout pieces is a stunning 2.5m x 1.3m LEGO rendition of Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam”.
Artur’s journey is a testament to how passion can transform ordinary materials into extraordinary works of art. His first notable LEGO mosaic was a world map, but he added his unique twist by incorporating a LEGO-made Porsche car into the design. Over time, his creations have evolved into tributes to famous personalities and iconic artworks.
From Mona Lisa and Starry Night to Salvador Dalí and Freddie Mercury, Artur’s LEGO mosaics blur the lines between play and art. Each of his pieces resembles the aesthetic of a 2D video game, blending nostalgia with innovation.
Artur’s creations have also earned recognition in the LEGO community, with his works being displayed at various LEGO-related events. His Instagram page serves as a gallery for his breathtaking LEGO mosaic art, showcasing his commitment to pushing the boundaries of what LEGO bricks can achieve.
