US Fish and Wildlife Service to get actively involved in his school system and get the students excited about the outdoors, conservation, and other programs.
Not only this, Black has also made YouTube videos, such as ‘How do Artists Discover Their Greatness’, and many more. Although skeptical It was not an easy decision for Chuck Black to give up his career as a wildlife biologist and become a full-time wildlife artist. In fact, he went into depression after he chucked his career, despite planning this move for over five years. However, once he decided, there was no looking back for him.
A degree in wildlife biology and working for national parks and wildlife agencies across the country made Black passionate about nature and the outdoors. His decision to become a professional wildlife artist made him relocate to Montana, USA, where he started painting in the right earnest.
Currently residing in Bozeman, Montana, Black loves painting the wonderful flora and fauna of the scenic countryside. Not only this, he has painted wildlife and nature from the East coast to the West and from the Southeast to the North shores of Alaska. The same is amply reflected in all his stunning works. Says he on his website, “…We have so many wonderful communities with extraordinary amounts of the scenic countryside where wildlife thrives…I’ve found beauty throughout and most often times where I least expected it.”
Unlike many wildlife artists, Black likes to paint in his studio and not outdoors. Says he on explore-acrylic-painting.com, “…I much more enjoy immersing myself into my surroundings when I’m out (rather than paint). Being out there and taking it all in is what I love the most, and I don’t think that’ll ever change. So, I (love) painting in my studio.”
One of Black’s prime aims is to use his artwork to fund his efforts towards a better environment. He has been collaborating with the and a bit scared at first, he is now comfortable in expressing himself through this medium.
Black has won several awards and has held first place in the California Duck Stamp award twice. He enjoys a viewership of over 134,000 on Instagram alone.
