Spanish Artist Thrills Viewers With His Thought-Provoking And Hard-Hitting Art

Most painters paint masterpieces that form an impression on the mind. However, some painters not only form an impression but also make one aware of the touching sensitive social and environmental issues. One such artist is the Spanish painter, Pejac, whose real name is Silvestre Santiago. His works – both indoors and outdoors – are immensely popular among the connoisseurs of art and the laymen, alike.

This Barcelona-based artist is a master at giving clever twists to familiar images, as also of creating elaborate replicas of classic masterpieces. The universal language of his works speaks to one and all. This is because of his incredible painting skills, original concepts, and immense knowledge of art, spanning both the classic and popular genres.

Another strength of this amazing artist is his ability to adapt his work to convey a powerful message to all kinds of viewers. This makes his art both thought-provoking and arresting. Sample his chilling take on the unforgettable pic of a Buddhist monk immolating himself. He’s also an expert at making replicas of past masterpieces and has tried his hand at remaking the classic masterpieces of Claude Monet, Eugène Delacroix, Katsushika Hokusai, and others.

Pejac is able to achieve all this by using different visual languages, unconventional tools, and ways of presenting his finished works. What makes his artwork unique is his use of a range of different formats, styles, techniques,s, and mediums. Not only this, but he has also mastered the technique that uses realistic imagery to create an optical illusion of 3D. All this makes his artworks stand apart from those of other artists of his ilk.

Pejac, born in Santander in Cantabria, Spain, was always passionate about art. He went on to study fine art in the Spanish cities of Salamanca and Barcelona and finally in Milan, Italy at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano Brera or the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera.

Pejac came into prominence by hosting a series of solo exhibitions and displaying his stunning outdoor works all around the globe. On Instagram alone, he has a following of 159,000 fans.
