God works in wondrous ways rings so true for Sergey Piskunov, a Ukrainian-born artist. Just imagine, this gifted artist did not pursue his passion for art, but instead enrolled himself in the Ukrainian Academy of Customs in 2007 and passed out with a diploma in computer system engineering in 2012.

By all reasoning, he should have been a successful IT engineer, but destiny had something else in store for him. And that was to unleash his hidden artistic talents and turn him into an artist of such caliber as to be celebrated among the greats, both on the public platform and on social media.

Sergey, born on April 9, 1989, was like any other school kid, who loved to doodle on whatever surface he found, be it his notebooks, his desk, walls, and any other. It was his creative restlessness that ached for expression and longed to manifest his individuality. His love for drawing was not lost on his teachers, who advised him to develop his inborn artistic talent by joining the art classes in school.

But, being taught a subject which he was gifted with was not for Sergey. Never did he once visit the art class. Instead, he bottled up his artistic ability inside and chose a totally different path, away from his artistic creativity, to become a qualified computer system engineer.

However, fate had other plans for him. The trigger was a gift of brushes and oil paints from someone very close when he was in the third year of the computer academy. This awakened the artist in Sergey that had remained dormant all this while. Once his artistic passion got ignited there was no looking back.

Sergey unleashed his creativity with a vengeance and passion that he had never experienced before. He not only explored his inner being for artistic inspiration but also avidly followed the works of great masters of surrealism, impressionism, and suchlike fields.

His hyper-realistic paintings convey his emotions on the canvas and add a unique charm and character to his works. His depth of personality and his inner being, expressed through the medium of art, is evident in each and every piece of his work. This is what makes his paintings so noticeable, alluring, and unique.
