Colorful Paintings Of This Russian Artist Are Becoming Eye Candies For The Viewers

What can you say of a little girl, who was born in a small industrial town in Russia, called Balakovo, grew up watching the gray skyline and smokestacks, endured seven months of winter each year, and yet managed to became one of the leading artists of her country and the world? Incredible, to say the least.

This amazing artist is Kate Tova, who made art a source of escapism from her tough existence. Totally, self-taught she started out by studying the artistic techniques at an early age and, by the age of six, she had begun using watercolors to paint animals. Such were her artistic skills that she was able to sell her first painting at the age of 12.

Kate’s artistic talent brought her to Moscow as a young teenager, where she got the opportunity to collaborate with not only local artists and gallery owners, but also photographers and models. It was her diehard passion for arts that brought her recognition all across Russia and Europe.

The surprising part is this full-time contemporary artist has had no formal art education. Asked about her work, she had this to say, “My work is based on the simple, beautiful things that surround me and occupy my mind. My work incorporates feelings of love, happiness, and calmness through the combination of vivid and pastel colors, loose brushstrokes, and organic forms. I’m drawn to visually pleasing images featuring smooth line, biomorphic elements, and natural lighting.”

Kate moved to in New Orleans, the USA in 2015, where she currently resides and works. The city has had a profound influence on her and the same is reflected in her works. The city also provided her with the opportunity to get involved in several organizations and contribute to the cause of women empowerment.

Always on the lookout for newer things, Kate has experimented with large-scale multimedia portraits that incorporate interactive, reflective mediums in her recent works. It comes as no surprise that her works have been critically acclaimed in art exhibitions in the cities across the world, such as Berlin, New York, Prague, Vienna and many more.
