The Exquisite Wedding Gowns Of This Intuitive Designer Have Become A Must-Have For Brides-To-Be

What happens when passion and love for business meet? Who better than Rebecca Schoneveld to answer it! This exceptional Brooklyn-based designer creates such exquisite wedding dresses that brides-to-be make a beeline to buy her dresses. Thanks to her entrepreneurial itch, she has made a business out of creating gowns.

Rebecca Schoneveld wedding dresses are a sensation because her handcrafted intuitive designs use dreamy drapes and exceptional textiles. Such is her grasp of material and design that she has created a niche for herself in creating unique and stylish wedding dresses.

According to Schoneveld, she inherited her love for fashion from her maternal grandmother, who was one of the most stylish women of her times. However, it was her mother who taught her how to sew at the tender age of four, when girls her age were playing with dolls. She instantly fell in love with sewing.

Since Schoneveld’s family could not afford to buy her new dresses, her sewing and fashion sense came to her rescue. She never needed to buy clothes, as she’d stitch her own. Such was her expertise with needle and thread that she created her own prom dress based on a pattern from the 1950s. Not only this, her acute business sense prompted her to sell her products to other girls in the school itself.

It was only natural for Schoneveld to enroll in the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, US. Only a few months after her graduation, she landed a temporary job at J Crew and rose to become an assistant designer when she was only 19! Afterward, she tried many other companies, but her heart was certainly not into working for others.

It was in March 2006 that this wedding dress designer in Brooklyn decided to branch out on her own and started creating maternity dresses. Soon, she switched to making cocktail gowns and launched an Etsy store. Such was the response that she received 40 orders in the first month itself. She soon graduated to making bridal gowns and opened her very own wedding dress stores in Brooklyn New York.
