The Modern-Day Wedding Cakes Created By Russian Siblings Are A Visual Treat

Mention wedding cakes and the mind goes to white creamy multi-tiered cakes adorned with the statuettes of the bride and the groom. Well, in present times, such cakes are almost history. Innovative thinkers have changed the very look of the wedding cakes. Two such amazing creators are the Moscow-based siblings, Madina Yavorskaya and her brother Rustom Yavorskaya.

These two siblings are certainly blazing a trail in the wedding cake business. They opened a family-run pastry company in 2009 and named it after Madina’s daughter, Tortik Annushka. It was the result of the potent combination of these two unique cake creators – the former a fine arts graduate and the latter, an architect.

Constant innovation is the name of their game, but producing one-of-a-kind cakes is no easy task. In an interview with igworldclub.org, Madina explained, “Creating a single cake may take a week. Ideas simply come to us, and sometimes, they emerge as we experiment.” She adds, “We always work together and we get inspired by progress.”

The combined expertise of this duo is quite evident in creating elegant, well-structured, intricate and multi-tiered cakes that are delicately decorated. The organic patterns and asymmetrical compositions of cakes with abstract adornments seem more like decoration pieces than traditional cakes.

According to Tortik Annushka’s website, their made-to-order cakes “help to leave solemn events in memory for a long time and evoke pleasant memories, because sweet treats are the central part of any holiday”. It’s no surprise that the pastry company enjoys a following of over 70,000 fans on Instagram alone and figures on numerous websites.

Fortunately, cake designing is not a closely guarded secret with these siblings. They can be learned by enrolling in Tortik Annushka’s confectionary classes, run in their baking school. The courses range from cupcake creating to macaron making and more.
