If there’s ever a sculptor who’s loved all across the globe for her outstanding works, it’s none other than Tanya Preminger. This Soviet Union born sculptor, who’s now settled in Israel, has enthralled the public for four decades, winning recognition and respect along the way, not to mention a string of awards.
Preminger realized her passion for art early and went on to earn a Masters of Arts degree from Surikov Academy of Arts, Moscow, Russia in 1968. She made Arsuf Kedem in Israel her base and has been living and teaching art there since 1975, which includes sculpting, landscape art, installation, and photography.
It’s really a marvel to find Preminger remaining strongly creative to this day. She displayed her works in no less than 29 solo exhibitions in Israel from 1978 to 2011. Her unique sculptures figure in almost all the major museums and galleries of the country, such as Efrat Gallery, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel; Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, Herzliya, Israel; and many others.
In addition to this, Preminger has participated in over 90 group exhibitions around the globe and has also participated in over 100 Sculpture Symposiums and Competitions the world over. These countries include Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, and the USA.
Of course, Preminger’s works have not gone unrecognized. She has been winning awards for over two decades, her first being in1995, where she received the Outstanding Prize in International Stone Sculpture Competition in Hualien, Taiwan. Her latest was in 2019 where her ‘Spoonbill Cup’ won the Excellent Award in the Public Art Exhibition, China. Besides these, she has won the first prize in the 2nd International Sculpture Symposium of Mercosul, Bento Gon’alves, Brasil. She also won the first prize in Stone Sculpture Competition ‘Forma Viva’, Slovenia, besides many other firsts.
Her works have also been commissioned in many places across the globe; the latest being the installation of her work, ‘Globe’, at Business Park Complex, Caesarea, Israel in 2019. People are discovering her works and lifetime achievements on social media.
