Miniature Art Of This Sculptor-Painter Depicts Nature In All Its Glory

Stéphanie Kilgast, a sculptor and a painter, is certainly in love with nature. All her subjects revolve around nature and what it abounds in – plants, insects, and animals. She creates them in exciting miniature forms, made more beautiful in vibrant colors. It’s really a joy to see her beautiful art in endearing hues that warms the cockles of one’s heart.

In the series ‘Discarded Objects’, Kilgast depicts her alluring 3D nature art on discarded objects, such as plastic bottles, metal cans, glass bottles, and other objects. It’s a stark reminder of the “lost balance between human activities and nature”. One message that she tries to convey through her works is “nature has the capacity to grow back if we only let it”.

Kilgast not only creates miniature sculptures on discarded objects but also on wooden canvases that she refers to as sculptural paintings. She has also rendered some really enchanting paintings in delightful colors that showcase nature, places, and insects. Her mural paintings are a treat to watch, too.

This artist and sculptor, born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and currently residing in Vannes, France, is highly qualified. She did French Baccalauréat S – Lycée Victor Hugo, Frankfurt, Germany; Bachelor of Architecture from Ecole d’Architecture de Marne La Vallée, France; and Master in Architecture, Ecole d’Architecture de Paris La Villette, Paris, France.

Kilgast’s works have been exhibited in various exhibitions all around the world, such as Harmony Gallery in Shanghai, China; Dédale, Vannes, France; Radical Mycology Convergence, Mulino, Oregon, USA; Thought Foundation, Newcastle, UK; Eating Insects Conference and Art Exhibition, Athens, Georgia, USA, among others.

Kilgast has also earned many laurels for her works. She was declared Cedrec Information Systems Outstanding Artist at Thoughtful Foundation. She was placed third in 3D Art Category, ‘Nature’ Art Exhibition, Light Space and Time Gallery. Her two sculptures – Ahoy! And Poison d’Art – were shortlisted for the Sunny Art Prize, 2018. She has received many other awards, too.
