If you want to visualize a black hole, you just need to have a look at the cosmos series of iZZY iZVNE, a Moldovan street artist. Born in Chisinau, Moldova, this street artist chooses to hide her real name for reasons best known to her. So fascinating is her street art that she has been included in the book ‘100 European Graffiti Artists’, making her the first Moldovan woman to figure in it.
iZVNE graffiti-style basically consists of 3D forms and calligraphy. In an email to awesomebyte.com, she says, “My style is about the opening of undiscovered things. Who can imagine how deep and colorful the reality can be inside the wall? How deep and colorful can the cosmos be above us…? I try to show through my art how deep the reality can be, which we cannot sense, but we should try to unravel it.”
iZVNE, an economics graduate, was smitten by graffiti with the emergence of hip-hop culture and the freedom it offered. On the website, mobiasbanca.md, she explains graffiti, thus, “Graffiti is street art, which does not impose any cannons, rules or preferences. It’s a freedom of choice for each painter. There are currently plenty of unimaginable styles, shapes, and trends in our world. There are certain features that unite them all, though. Not necessarily are they taught at a school….”
iZVNE began adorning the walls of her native city, Chisinau, the capital of Moldavia. Why Chisinau? Because, according to her, it’s a pretty empty city, and choosing a suitable site and getting legal permission wasn’t a problem.
According to iZVNE, everything around her inspires her, be it various life situations, weather, music and the like. Her street art has made graffiti popular in her country, with many people wanting to see this art in their own homes, offices, cafes, etc. This interest came as a windfall for her, as her graffiti started fetching good money.
However, for iZVNE it’s not all about money; it’s the extreme personal joy that it brings to her. Her graffiti is showcased in many websites and social media platforms, such as Instagram.
