If you’ve ever seen and marveled at the creative advertisements in photography magazines, such as “A” Design, Retouched Magazine, Digital Camera, DOCMA, Digital Photo, Good Light, and others, this may very well be the handiwork of Felix Hernandez, a Mexican photographer, graphic designer, and digital artist.
This commercial photographer, based in the city of Cancun, Mexico, runs a creative agency called Project Matatema and a photography studio, named Hernandez Dreamphography. His sterling creative artworks have attracted many big national and international clients, such as Audi Germany, Audi Middle East, Mattel, Nickelodeon, Volkswagen, Wilson, and many others.
Felix has mastered the photographic techniques of mixing photography with digital art and crafts to create unique artworks. He has showcased his works in the digital media, such as 500px, Adobe Creative Magazine, Adobe Photoshop, Audi Deutschland, Bored Panda, Canon, Daily Mail, DIY Photography, Wired, among others.
On the website, shotkit.com, Felix states, “I produce creative concepts and images for different brands, advertising agencies and personal projects as well.” For his job, he either works in his studio and or on location. And the global reach of his works is simply astounding. He has commercial projects running in countries like Argentina, Brazil, China, Denmark, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, UK, USA, among many others.
Felix is able to accomplish so much because he’s not only a creative thinker but also thoroughly knowledgeable about his craft. For example, for photography, he uses top-of-the-line gear, such as Canon 5D Mark IV and a variety of lenses that, according to him, are everything he needs.
Not only has Felix worked on different brands, but he has also been a judge at the Handam International Photography Awards (HIPA) in Dubai and at ADC Awards for the Art Directors Club of New York. He holds webinars with Adobe Latin America, offers online tutorials with Domestika, and attends conferences and workshops around the world.
Felix defines his goal on shotkit.com, “My only goal is to create and make a living doing what I love…” Little wonder he has a fan following of over 100,000 on Instagram alone.
