Amazingly Papercut Bird Miniatures Of This Indian Duo Are Making People Sit Up And Take Notice

If you are a bird lover or bird watcher or are even pleased with the colorful plumes of these feathered friends, then you will certainly love the miniature papercut birds created by the duo of Nayan and Vaishali. The gorgeous details inculcated in these miniature birds are simply incredible!

Papercutting is as complex an art as origami, the art of paper folding. This duo uses hand-cut and hand-painted layered paper from which these beautiful birds are created. And the variety is simply mind-boggling. What adds to the complexity of the whole process is the size of these birds. It requires extremely intricate work to put these miniature birds together. Little wonder they easily fit the palm of the hand!

The Indian duo of Nayan and Vaishali hails from Ahmedabad in India. Nayan is a furniture and interior designer, while Vaishali is an illustrator. The common bond between them is they both love paper and birds. It was in the winter of 2015 that they struck upon the idea of starting a career as a miniature model maker. Birds were their obvious choice since both are avid bird lovers. The sheer variety of colorful plumage was also an added attraction that they thought would make their miniatures aesthetically pleasing.

This is what prompted the duo to focus on tiny and delicate birds found across the globe. What is remarkable is that these two did not focus only on the beautifully hued birds of paradise, but included even those with dull feathers. However, their presentation of even the common birds is such as to endear them to the viewers.

All kinds of birds created by them are displayed on their Instagram page, where they enjoy a sizeable following. You can also buy them online.

297/365, Number Two Hundred ninety seven from our 365 Days of miniature art ~ Kagu / Cagou… . . SAVE NATURE SAVE WORLD . . . The kagu or cagou (Rhynochetos jubatus) is a crested, long-legged, and bluish-grey bird endemic to the dense mountain forests of New Caledonia. It is the only surviving member of the genus Rhynochetos and the family Rhynochetidae, although a second species has been described from the fossil record. Measuring 55 cm (22 in) in length, it has pale grey plumage and bright red legs. Its 'nasal corns' are a unique feature not shared with any other bird. Almost flightless, it spends its time on or near the ground, where it hunts its invertebrate prey, and builds a nest of sticks on the forest floor. Both parents share incubation of a single egg, as well as rearing the chick. It has proven vulnerable to introduced predators and is threatened with extinction. . . #365dayschallenge #miniature #papercut #paperart #sculpture #paperbird #kagu #cagou #endangeredbirds #groundbird #sunbittern #greybird #birdsculpture #MyEtsyFind #dailymini #artistofinstagram #birdsofinstagram #birdstagram #artistsoninstagram #artoftheday #dailydrawing #birdart #nvillustration #etsy #365feathersproject @instagram @winsorandnewton @instagramforbusiness @excelblades @birds.nature @lgenpaper @natgeo @etsy @etsyin @strictlypaperart @boredpanda @fubiz @designboom @dailymini

292/365, Number Two Hundred ninety two from our 365 Days of miniature art ~ Purple-crowned fairywrens … . . SAVE NATURE SAVE WORLD . . . The purple-crowned fairywren (Malurus coronatus) is a species of bird in the Australasian wren family, Maluridae. It is the largest of the eleven species in the genus Malurus and is endemic to northern Australia. The species name is derived from the Latin word cǒrōna meaning "crown", owing to the distinctive purple circle of crown feathers sported by breeding males. Genetic evidence shows that the purple-crowned fairywren is most closely related to the superb fairywren and splendid fairywren. Purple-crowned fairywrens can be distinguished from other fairywrens in northern Australia by the presence of cheek patches (either black in males or reddish-chocolate in females) and the deep blue colour of their perky tails. . . #365dayschallenge #miniature #papercut #paperart #sculpture #paperbird #purplecrownfairywren #fairywren #wren #couplesgoals #smallbird #cutebird #birdsculpture #MyEtsyFind #raptors #artistofinstagram #birdsofinstagram #birdstagram #artistsoninstagram #artoftheday #dailydrawing #birdart #nvillustration #etsy #365feathersproject @instagram @winsorandnewton @instagramforbusiness @excelblades @birds.nature @lgenpaper @natgeo @etsy @etsyin @strictlypaperart @boredpanda @fubiz @designboom
