A Unique Blend of Sculpture and Painting Sets This Artist Apart

With mother an art professor and a painter, it wouldn’t have taken much time for Marie-Pascale Gautheron (MP Gautheron) to decide what she wants to become when she grows up. And her decision to follow in her mother’s footsteps was taken not to continue her family’s artistic legacy, but to follow her very own artistic instincts that she nurtured in the artistic environment at home.

This French artist based in Lyon, France was initially taught art by her mother and she later took classes in an art school. And she just didn’t become a run-of-the-mill artist, but one who has created her very own niche in the art world.

Gautheron is a painter and a sculptor, all rolled into one, and her claim to fame is her colorfully patterned skulls, among other creations. Such was the impact of her skulls that she was commissioned by a French toy collector to create a designer toy. This provided her a stepping stone to enter the world of customizing toys.

Gautheron’s range of customizations is only limited by her imagination, what with colorful hand painted designs and patterned figures. Her recent experimentation of infusing sculpts to her toys has opened a new dimension to her customized art.

One of Gautheron’s famous works was Custom Dunny series titled ‘The 38 Custom Dunny Collection by MP Gautheron’ that she released in October 2017. Just a year afterward, she has released a new Custom Dunny series featuring 15 one-of-a-kind hand-sculpted and painted creations in her signature style. Each art piece in this series comes in three sizes – 3-inch, 5-inch, and 8-inch. It’s signed by Gautheron and comes with an official Certificate of Authenticity.

Besides this, she has exhibited many more styles in exhibitions. She also enjoys a fan following of 86,000 on Instagram alone. You can order her customized art from her personal website.
