3D Geometric Sculptures Of This Motion Graphic Artist Are Simply Mesmerizing

What do you get when you cross a motion graphic artist with a creative designer? Simple, you get Andreas Wannerstedt, an amazing 3D sculptor who has taken the art world by storm!

Yes, Wannerstedt is the creator of the mesmerizing geometric shapes in balanced compositions that are both simple and sophisticated. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, this artist and art director started out as 2D animations artist, way back in 1999. These were the days when Flash intros were in vogue on websites.

However, in 2007, Wannerstedt started focusing on 3D animations. Surprisingly, this brilliant artist and 3D sculptor have had no formal training in 3D art and sculpting. He is entirely self-taught. He honed his skills by undertaking numerous personal projects that introduced him not only to different techniques, but also sharpened his skills in specific areas, such as lighting, modelling, texturing, rendering optimization, and the like. And, he has been at it for the past 13 years.

Wannerstedt’s intriguing looping animations and 3D sculptures are making waves the world over. His works display his power of visualization and his God-gifted creativity, what with his use of organic textures and harmonizing colour palettes. Someone has rightly hit the nail on the head by terming his perfectly synchronized works as ‘oddly satisfying’ because they mesmerize the viewers and put them in a kind of meditative trance.

Wannerstedt’s working 3D sculptures and their flawless synchronization can put an industrial designer and engineer to shame. Such is his accuracy in putting together the elements in his sculptures that they seem to stretch the boundaries of friction and gravity to remain in perpetual motion, it seems, for posterity!

Wannerstedt’s works have attracted people in droves, both on the internet and otherwise. On Instagram alone, he has over 300,000 followers. Major companies of the world vie with each other for his works. He was commissioned work by industrial giants and clients, such as Absolut Vodka, Adidas, Coca-Cola, Ericsson, Google, Ikea, Nicktoons, P. Diddy, Red Bull, Spotify, Squarespace, and many more.

What’s more, Wannerstedt’swork has featured on websites and print media, such as 9gag, Behance Network, Business Insider, Designboom, Designcollector, FWA, Fubiz, Huffington Post, LAD Bible, Mindsparkle Mag, Stash Magazine, UNILAD, VT, Vimeo Staff-Pick among others.

There is no doubt that Wannerstedt’sunique motion graphics sculptures will continue to enthral people from all walks of life and keep his cash register ringing.
