This Polish Artist With No Arms Earns Fame Sketching Stunning Portraits

Inspirational stories of people with handicaps and debilitating conditions, who distinguished themselves in their chosen fields by overcoming their disabilities, do the rounds regularly. Mariusz Kędzierski is one such individual who was born without arms but overcame this handicap to become an artist who is currently making waves on the internet.

Mariusz, born in November 1992, is a Polish artist and a motivational speaker, who was born in Świdnica, a city in southwestern Poland without arms. When he was only three, his artistic talents came to fore that he nurtured through the support of his parents.

Mariusz gained expertise in sketching black and white portraits that he draws and shades with graphite pencils. What’s more, he’s completely self-taught in sketching portraits, though he has studied at the faculty of Interior Design at The E Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw. He was also a student of the Higher Technical School in Katowice and ward of the Polish Association of Janusz Korczak. Presently, he works and lives in Wroclaw, a city on the Older River in western Poland.

Mariusz’s stunning portraits not only brought him fame and fortune but also honors and awards. His portraits are regularly sold in countries, such as Australia, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, South Korea, the US, and many others. He has also held several solos and group exhibitions in Poland in the cities of Cracow, KozminWlkp., Wroclaw, Świdnica, and Sobotka. He has also displayed his works in prominent cities of other countries, such as Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Turkey, and the US.

Mariusz was conferred with many awards, the important ones being the second prize of Best Global Artist Award Vienna 2013, Audience Award of ‘Without Man Barriers’ 2015, Best Global Artist in ‘Realism’ category in 2018 and were declared the Best Global Artist 2018 All Round Winner award. He appeared in the list of top 100 people with disability in Poland.

Art is not the only thing that distinguishes Mariusz, he’s also the first Polish motivational speaker. He has had the opportunity to perform in Taipei, Taiwan in 2016.
