Woodworker Creates Furniture Depicting Rivers And Lakes

Whether it’s residential or commercial furniture, Jeff Mack, a Canadian woodworker, is an expert in all. He loves to create custom woodworking items that not only blend metal with wood but also include blue water bodies. His wood slab conference tables, metal-cum-wood river coffee tables, bed frames, and many more items are hailed for their craftsmanship.

What’s unique about Mack’s work is his expertise in including blue water bodies, made from resin, in his wooden items. In addition to the furniture, he also offers custom lake signs and wooden maps.

Not only is Mack a woodworker par excellence, but he’s also clear-headed too as far as his profession goes. When asked in an interview to makeviews.com, what advice he’d give to budding woodworkers, he said, “The best advice I could give to other woodworkers comes in two parts. First, stay true to what you truly want to make. In the beginning, when you’re first finding jobs and customers, you get asked to do a lot of jobs that aren’t in your scope of practice. It’s easy to say yes to those jobs to make a few bucks and pay some bills, and keep the business moving. The downside is if you build something once for one person, there’s a good chance that you are going to be asked again to do something similar and it may pull you down a path that you never intended on going down.”

Mack’s second advice, “Before every job, you have to ask yourself if the time you’re going to spend on the job is worth the money you’re being paid. Too many times I see people get caught up doing crazy jobs for a small amount of money because it has a ‘cool’ factor to it. It’s nice to have some unique jobs in your portfolio, but don’t let ‘cool’ get in the way of ‘profitable’. If you can achieve both, then go for it.”

Mack’s long list of clients includes Apple, Daniels, Sheraton, Toronto Raptors, and many more. His furniture has also been featured on HGTV’s ‘Decked Out’ and W Network’s ‘Love It or List It’. On Instagram, he has almost 800,000 viewers.
