Meet Hasan Kale, who is lovingly called ‘Turkey’s Microangelo’! He was introduced to art when he was only five and by the time he started going to school, he was already drawing portraits. It was then that he decided to make art his career. He started creating miniature art in Istanbul, Turkey. His meticulous artwork soon got him noticed.

Hasan’s art touches upon contemporary issues that are encountered in daily lives. He also uses everyday objects and items, such as nail, rice, silk cocoon, pumpkin seed, lentil, needle, fishbone, etc. in his micro art, turning the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Hasan manages to create beautiful paintings out of anything he can lay his hands on. His only criterion is that they should be tiny. Rendering micro art is not easy, he has to spend a lot of time hunched over tiny objects and use his imagination to arrange them into something incredibly aesthetic.

Hasan’s food canvases are particularly impressive, but in all his works one problem remains. His artwork is too small to be seen clearly without magnification and displayed on the walls. This makes one wonder how he manages to paint such micro-miniatures.
