Now here’s another trick that you can do with your iPhone! Just follow Francois Dourlen. Yes, you’ve got to hand it over to this 31-year-old from Cherbourg in France for creating a series of rib-tickling images that give a new twist to everyday settings.
Dourlen, a history teacher by profession, is an amateur artist and an avid photographer. His creative eye gives a new setting to scenes from cult movies and popular TV sitcoms. And they have been lapped up by the public on various social media.
According to Dourlen, all this started as a joke. Says he, “One day, wanting to make a joke with friends, I replaced a statue of Napoleon in Cherbourg with a picture of My Little Pony in my phone and took a picture.I had so much fun that I put it on Facebook and people immediately liked it.” From here on, there was no looking back for him.
Dourlen gets his ideas from juxtaposing movie characters on everyday settings. All this in his mind. Such is the power of his visualization that the end result is always hilarious and awe-inspiring.
What he does is simple. He first downloads the picture of a famous character on his iPhone; positions this image in front of his chosen everyday setting and accurately aligns them; he then clicks both the iPhone held in his hand and the background setting with funny results.
According to Dourlen, “The scenery makes me think about something I’ve seen before and I just found a way to illustrate my associations of ideas.” You just need to see his creations to know what he means.
Little wonder Dourlen enjoys a respectable fan following on the social media. He has over 160,000 followers on Instagram and over 74,000, on Facebook.
