Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, this amulet first appeared in ‘The Origin of Doctor Strange’ in December 1963, where Doctor Strange wears it on his chest. Their inspiration came from the ‘The All-Seeing Eye of the Buddha’ that protects its wearer against evil. Since then, this item has appeared in various publications featuring Doctor Strange.

The Eye enables Doctor Strange to see through all disguises and illusions, witness past events and track both physical and ethereal beings and even probe the minds of others by detecting their psychic or magical emissions, among many other powers.
