Thai Café Owner Attracts Customers With Her Corgi Dogs – All 12 Of Them

What does a dog lover do, if she has 12 adorable Corgis? Well, instead of feeding them through her own pocket, open a café and charge the customers to feed them, making it a win-win situation for both!

Jokes apart, there is actually a café in Bangkok, Thailand, called ‘Corgi In The Garden’ that houses 12 lovable Corgis. It was opened by a dog lover called Tanchanok Kanawaong, who’s a great fan of this breed. It wasn’t long before this unique café became popular, attracting hordes of tourists and locals. The customers simply adore these Corgis, named Bean, Babycorn, Porkchop, Pumpkin, Salmon and a few other pups. They get to feed these cute doggies with an endless flow of titbits throughout the day.

Kanawaong chose this breed because it is lovable and funny. Says she, “I love big dogs and used to have up to 10 Siberian Huskies and Golden Retrievers at the same time. When they grew old and passed away, I looked for dogs with similar characteristics, only smaller in size and decided to get a baby boy Corgi.”

Kanawaong added to her collection and soon she had five Corgis. They bred to make a total of 12 Corgis. And these delightful pets never fail to put a smile on the faces of the café’s customers. The Corgis are a trained lot, having been trained by a professional dog trainer to perform simple tricks like a handshake.

Incidentally, the café remains open six days a week from noon till evening. It can accommodate 50 customers on 22 tables. The owner charges $11 per customer for one-hour sessions with the dogs.

Of course, it’s not all play for the Corgis, since they require their nap time in between, so as not to get exhausted. Kanawaong ensures this by having an hour’s gap between sessions, during which the Corgis rest. However, there is always a problem of these doggies overeating and gaining too much weight. So, the owner ensures they get exercised by making them run in the café’s garden, at least three times a day.
