Mention the word photographer and the mind usually go to one who loves to take photographs or teach photography. But here’s a photographer who not only does this, but also makes customized cameras that are sure to blow your mind.
Meet Brendan Barry, a UK-based photographer, who stands out among ordinary photographers for his crazy cameras. It all started when he launched his ‘Caravan Camera’ in 2017 on the internet in which he turned a $200 camper into a mammoth camera cum portable darkroom.
Founder of Positive Light Projects, a non-profit organization, Brendan helps develop the skills of budding photographers by nurturing their exciting and innovative ideas to fruition. He’s also the photography degree course leader and faculty manager for higher education at Exeter School of Art.
Brendan’s works not only draw accolades from the discerning public but brickbats too. His works are accused of being unoriginal and pointless. However, Brendan remains unmoved, says he, “In a world of smartphone cameras and instant uploads, it’s nice to slow things down a little bit and create something physical. And now I use this experience as a tool for teaching photography.”
Brendan’s works are gaining popularity on the internet as is evident from the fan following on his Instagram page.
