87-Year-Old Grandma Astounds Her Online Followers With Her Amazing Microsoft Paint Art

If you have tried to tinker with Microsoft Paint on your computer, you would know that it is not that simple to draw or paint. But, here is an 87-year-old grandma who is making people sit up and take note of her handiwork using MS Paint!

It all started when Concha Garcia Zaera’s husband fell ill. She had a lot of time on her hands and her children introduced her to computers to while away her time. It was only a matter of time before she discovered the potential and intricacies of MS Paint that awakened the artist in her.

According to her, “My husband fell ill and I had to take care of him, so I couldn’t go out very often. I began painting little things: first, a house, the next day I’d add a mountain…step by step, I was adding details and in the end, the result was a very pretty thing.”

There is little doubt that Zaera has a unique style which is both simple and spellbinding at the same time. Her colour combination is so aesthetic that her paintings simply stand out. However, Zaera downplays her unique talent, saying, “I’ve no imagination at all, so I get inspiration from the postcards that my husband used to send me or drawings that I find and like.”

Zaera is totally dedicated to her computer art and spends no less than two weeks on one piece. Painstakingly, she would fill in all the minor details to bring the painting alive.

Initially, Zaera posted her masterpieces on Facebook, but on the suggestion of one of her granddaughters, she switched to Instagram. Starting with only about 300 followers, she now enjoys an audience of over 100,000 people. Her work figures in many websites too.

Zaera is still perplexed regarding her instant fame. Says she, “I do not understand very well why my drawings draw so much attention. I think they are very simple things.”
